This one day workshop is about the use of drama and "improv" within therapeutic settings. TV shows such as “Whose Line Is It Anyway” rely on improv and the talent of the performers. What many people are not aware is that “improv” has a concise formula that anyone can learn to use.
Learn how to:
- use improvisation in the most challenging of situations
- formulate responses to the most challenging communications
- develop and build a sense of drama and tension within changework sessions
- fractionation - build and release tension
- track the numerous "frames" opened up by clients
Now, all too often I have witnessed therapy sessions consisting of little more than a nice pleasant intellectual exploration of issues, or worse still, the therapist relies on a set “script” of techniques. Whilst this may benefit some clients, I have often found that the addition of a sense of drama to the change work can massively facilitate change.
By engaging the full set of raw emotional responses of the client, conscious patterns are by-passed and deep therapeutic change can be created.
As readers of, “The Rainbow Machine – Tales From a Neurolinguist’s Journal” will be aware, I often like to utilize the building of humour, tension and drama into my change work sessions and rarely do I ever use any pre-set and rehearsed routines. Given my client group, often the client will bring their own drama and unique humour to the session and a high level of flexibility and responsivity is needed in such situations.
So on this one day workshop, there will be an exploration of improvisation (or “improv”), building tension and developing humour within the communications between therapist and client.
No previous acting experience is required and no one will be expected to perform in front of the group. Book early and hold on to your hats, because this will be a fun and fast paced workshop. Please contact me for further details or book direct via: http://www.freshbraincompany.com
